If an employee or dependent of an employee is turning age 26, and the employee and / or dependent has been covered under their parents' / guardians' benefits coverage, this is a qualifying life event. If you are the employee turning age 26 and losing coverage, you will need to enroll in your own benefits. If you are the parent or guardian of a dependent turning age 26, you will need to drop the dependent from your coverage.
- You will have 31 days from the event date to log in to Workday and type in the search box Change Benefits.
- Benefits will begin or end on the date of other coverage.
- A document showing proof of other coverage or loss of coverage including effective date, benefits elected, and covered individuals.
- To enroll any dependents, you will need:
- Marriage certificate for spouse coverage
- Birth certificate(s) for child(ren) coverage
- Social Security cards for all dependents
