Spare Tire Week 4

Changing your eating habits can be hard, especially since some habits may have developed in early childhood. Take things slow and work to improve your eating habits over time. Gradual changes may help you adapt better to the new habits and stay successful for years to come.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends taking the 3R approach to improving your eating habits:

  • Reflect on your current habits and ways you can change them
  • Replace unhealthy habits with healthy habits
  • Reinforce your new healthier habits

To learn more about the 3Rs and how to get started, visit the CDC’s Improving Your Eating Habits page. While you are there, be sure to download a copy of the CDC’s food diary to track your current habits as you Reflect.
