Information on Social Security and Medicare
Social Security and Medicare can be confusing and there are different ways and ages to take advantage of these government benefits. Retiree Medical Bridge Plan
Continuation of medical benefits is a major factor to consider when thinking of retirement. To help alleviate these concerns, the Retiree Medical Bridge Plan allows an eligible employee and their spouse to obtain the same medical/prescription drug coverage in retirement that is provided to active employees . To be eligible for the Plan, an employee must be at least 60 years old and have at least 25 years of full-time service with the Company. Coverage would be in effect from the date of retirement to the date the retiree qualifies for Medicare (the bridge period), currently age 65.
